"Jill acted with immense care as our Doula. She provided my husband and me with support throughout our pregnancy and was always there to offer advice and answer questions. We really appreciated her knowledge and willingness to help us. At our birth, Jill was amazing. She assisted with my breathing and helped me manage the pain of each of my contractions. One of the things that I appreciated most was the advice and tips she offered my husband. He was more actively involved in helping me work through labour because Jill showed him different techniques that he could try.  "Jill was exceptionally professional and is a true credit to her profession. Insofar as that profession is concerned, I can honestly say that I cannot imagine anyone endeavouring to go through labour without the assistance of a Doula. They provide what I view as an essential service during the course of childbirth. For example, Jill readily provided effective pain-management advice to my wife at precisely the right moments, and I must confess that I'm sure that I would have been unable to provide the same. She was both proactive and appropriately reactive, and while she was very hands-on, I never for a moment felt like she was interfering in the least. She also provided some invaluable information in advance of the delivery at our home, which gave me a fairly good idea of what to expect when my wife went into labour. In sum, no one ought to give birth without the help of a Doula and Jill is an amazing Doula."

"Having Jill be a part of the birth of our daughter was an honour. Although we were both prepared, and had the support of our family and the midwife, I believe Jill was a determinant factor in us having a successful birth experience - continuity from positive discussions beforehand, through a long labour, to postpartum questions.  Jill is a very warm, gentle person, and also someone who can handle a stressful situation in a calm, steady way. "I consider Jill not only my doula but a true friend. When my water broke in the early morning, she was the first person I called. Her warm and calm voice on the other end of the phone was just the beginning of how the labour and delivery were going to go. She was by our side from then on, guiding me through all the stages and helping me feel comfortable making my own informed decisions. I truly felt like this was a birth I was in control of and think back on it with fond memories - this was all due to Jill. Jill was an amazing help and support to my partner who comes from a culture where men are not present at births. He was amazing when I was going through my contractions,but nervous about my C-section and taking care of my little boy while I was recovering from surgery. Without Jill, I don't think he would have been so able to do all of this. I will never forget what Jill said to me when I learned that I had to have a C-section. She knew that I wanted to have a natural birth and when the doctor suggested having a C-section, Jill said "remember, you're still birthing your child." That meant, and still means the world to me. I would highly recommend Jill as a doula and would definitely have her at my next birth (if I go through it again)."
